Wagon Repair Wagon Repair
Since being founded in 2004, Wagon Repair has established itself as a cult record label. Brought to life by Mathew Johnson (of Cobblestone Jazz), Konrad Black and Loose Change, Wagon Repair is as far away from the dry, polished productions characterising modern dance music, as you can get. Their vision of what we call house and techno is like looking though a fairground mirror on acid and seeing a much wobblier version staring back. Mike Shannon with his kick you in the face production style, The Mole with his euphoric, aquatic take on things as well as Cobblestone Jazz have all had massive releases on the label, but really, everything here is going to be massive to someone.

Quite a surprise album on Wagon Repair: Canadian producer Jules Chaz samples his way through pop history on 21 tracks of abstract hip-hop. Spot the finely sliced and diced snippets of Hall and Oates, Julee Cruise, and the cameo appearance of Cobblestone Jazz's Danuel Tate. Swell.

Wagon Repair is the perfect platform for the experimental and diverse stylings of Hrdvision, a.k.a. Nathan Jonson. 17 tracks strong, this provides an insight into the free-spirited mind of its creator, with highlights such as 'Captivated Heart,' 'City Girls', and closing track 'I Wish I Could Directly Effect'. Ace!
