Nicolas Chaix is a veteran of the album format (as I:Cube and with Chateau Flight) and perhaps this is what has prompted him to change up the routine for his latest long player: His '"M" Megamix' glues together 25 of his crunchy, electroid techno-house productions, most of them excellent. Check!

Ahead of his upcoming album, Argy drops this mighty sample-heavy EP on Versatile Records. 'Daze to Come' alludes to a heady Hacienda classic with its busy synths and old school flavours, while 'The Difference' packs even more of a punch, rife with a boisterous kick and raving 90s chord stabs. Big release!

With G.Rizo's new single, 'Boys', just released as a zero" exclusive, we've asked her for a mix to introduce the Hezekina Pollutina sound. G.Rizo came up with a selection of wonderfully eclectic music, including neo-electro by Jimmy Edgar and Siriusmo, disco more...
The immaculately produced electropop project of singer-songstress Lisa Li-Lund and DJ Gilb'R of Versatile Records gets some interesting dancefloor-ready remixes. 'Arrows' receives a sparkling disco polish from DFA's Juan McLean whilst Berlin's Argy transforms it into a dark techno stomper. Recommended.

Picked!
A single track release from the ever-innovative Chateau Flight duo (I:Cube and DJ Gilb'R) of Paris' admirable Versatile Records. A humourously bent take on electrified techno with ecstatic whizzes building up solidly around caved-in timpanis and a gritty synth bassline. A tense drama fit for a film-soundtrack. Mighty!

Assault On Precinct 13 Main Theme
(Track 03 on this EP)
No other could have fulfilled this task better than French vintage synth geeks Zombie Zombie, who were probably breast-fed by the sounds of the don of übercool lo-fi productions. Five great reworks who manage to stand out as pieces on their own rather than just being copies. Not to be missed.
Discovered on Wuppdeckmischmampflow Robag Whrume Kompakt Mix.
Extraordinary deep and really different from what we know from Chateau Flight.
Chateau Flight has got a "versatile" talent !

Bionic Ears
(Track 02 on this EP)
once again my choice
Nicolas Chaix returns with the extra trippy house jam 'Mérovingienne', which has percussive synths and basslines go crazy over a rough, stomping beat. 'Bionic Ears' and 'Grandes orgues' aim for a slightly deeper vibe and might be the choices for less adventurous dancefloors. Recommended.

Part of Krautrock disco outfit Zombie Zombie, Parisian Etienne Jaumet has recently gone solo with his John Carpenter-like analogue synth-disco soundtracks. Epic sci-fi music.
