Since its start in 2004, founded by Gunther Osburg and Maurice Summen of Berlin indie band Die Türen, Staatsakt has developed into one of the most interesting and unpredictable imprints in German underground pop. The label releases music by Mediengruppe Telekommander, Austrian indie shooting stars Ja, Panik or International Pony's Erobique.

Berlin's Staatsakt label continues to mix up the city's avant-pop scene with Mittekill's 'All But Bored, Weak And Old', a hypereclectic, hyperactive effort that effortlessly shifts between punk and techno, German and English, urban philosophy and prankish irony. Slightly overwhelming, yet recommended.

Ja, Panik from Vienna have managed to take the Spex readership by storm with their first two albums, and 'DMD KIU LIDT' offers an even bolder take on their witty avant-pop. Sung in a mixture of German and (consciously bad) English, and once again recorded with star producer Moses Schneider (Tocotronic).

Six years after his last album under his real name Jason Forrest returns with 'The Everything', an album that refines his anything-goes sample based approach without abandoning his legendary sonic anarchism. From easy listening jazz core to garage rock techno breaks, this album has... well, everything!

Announcing the impending arrival of great laptop anarchist Jason Forrest's new album, 'Raunchy' is a free-style journey through electronicaly enhanced psychedelic garage rock. Remixes come from Jokers Of The Scene (suitably epic disco), Driver & Driver (slamming acid-rave-rock), and Candie Hank (chiptune ska). Mad!
