Shitkatapult Shitkatapult
Originally founded by tech-punk maverick T.Raumschmiere, Shitkatapult appeared on the scene in 1999. Joined by Sascha Ring, better known as the amazing Apparat, and Daniel Meteo, the three have been running the label together ever since with ascending success. Graphics and such are handled by comrades in arms Carsten Aermes (a.k.a. Phon.o) and Alexander Solman (a.k.a. Cia-Industries). The electronic world has embraced Shitkatapult's long list of outstanding releases - from the innovative effusions of Apparat over the experimental soundscapes of T.Raumschmiere to the mutant tech-disco records from Das Bierbeben - and together with its associated labels Musick and Meteosound the Shitkatapult family is one of Germany's most established electronic music outlets.

The moody experimental techno of Anders Ilar's recent album 'Elva' gets a reworked by two artists whose contrasting styles add new dimensions to Ilars. John Tejada imbues his warm, slinking groove to otherwise dark 'Mystery Ride' and Bill Youngman beefs up the industrial mechanics of 'Escape'.

At long last, Cristian Vogel returns to the context of club music with a new album, and this time this context is dubstep rather than funky Brighton techno. Fans needn't worry though, as Vogel's brilliance in sound design and arrangement makes 'The Inertials' as much a classic Vogel album as it is mind-blowingly futuristic. Essential!
