Like Cynosure Records Revolver Records is one of Canada's foremost electronic music labels with critical acclaim worldwide. It was founded in 1999 by Canadian DJ pioneer Jeff Milligan, alongside school buddy Robin Roy at the same time when Mike Shannon started Cynosure Records. Later that year Jeff and Mike Shannon joined forces to manage the labels in tandem whilst still curating the labels independently. Revolver Canada and Cynosure were designed to serve as a platform for like-minded producers who were working with an aesthetic similar to their own, to voice a distinct Canadian sound and to spread that sound throughout the world. Jeff and Mike apply the same rigorous integrity to their DJ selections and productions as they do to choosing music for their labels. They have always chosen uncompromising acts for Revolver Canada and Cynosure that are unique and original without the restraints of genre. Mike's origins in Kitchener Ontario, Jeff's Toronto roots and the developing relationship with their Montreal comrades led to a distinct sound which spanned from Detroit to Montreal, influenced from everywhere in between and abroad.
