Rekids Rekids
Matt Edwards a.k.a Radio Slave, a.k.a Rekid, one half of Quiet Village and one the most talented and diverse DJ's and producers of present times started the label Rekids only a few years ago, precisely in 2006. In this short period of time he and his partner James Masters have established their imprint into a home for all the sophisticated yet effective pieces in contemporary electronic dance music. Together with his former co-worker Serge Santiago, Matt Edwards started out on "Rekid" with bootlegs of tracks by Fisherspooner, Jay-Z, J-Kwon, Roman Flügel or DJ Hell, which should later become officially remixed by them. And with his unique production- and A&R skills he can now get practically anyone he likes to contribute to the label, whether it be the next hot shot or old stager in the scene, everyone gratefully gives tracks or remixes knowing to be in good company.

Let It Rain (Track 01 on this Maxi-Single)

Slayerito, 2 years ago via zero-inch.com
Once again two dancefloor bombs by Matt Edwards, whose 'Let It Rain' and 'Suffa Groove' each work short, filtered disco loops into drawn out techno arrangements. Reminiscent of the ebb and flow of DJ Duke's original NY tech-house style, this pair of tracks is destined for the dancefloor.

Nina Kraviz's impeccable second single on Rekids sees 'I'm Week' a wholly tempting dreamy house groove lapping around a midnight vocal and 'Tanya' a hushed swirling tech-bumper. Digital release is graced with six remixes of her previous single, attaining deep and delicious layers. Spot on.

I Don't Need A Cure For This (Kenny Larkin Remix) (Track 01 on this Maxi-Single) was reviewed:
Rekids had another strong year in 2010 and the sweet remix release featuring Kenny Larkin and DJ Sneak was icing on the cake. Kenny Larkin's epic rework of Radio Slaves 'I Don't Need A Cure For This' defined the premium grade innovative techno Rekids always hit all the right buttons with.

Much anticipated album from Matt Edwards' elusive The Machine project, following on from the 'Fuse' remixes by Ame and Dixon on Innervisions last year. Compiling rich exotic fragments into intriguing collages with a lurking wicked techno expertise, it's an exhilarating journey. Double thumbs up.

Returning to his seminal solo album from 2008, previously only available as a continuous mix, Luke Solomon has reworked, re-edited and re-produced it into a redux version of individual tracks, with the engineering of the dancefloor in mind. A bold and diverse inspirational vision, now available to all! Brilliant.
