Ostgut Ton Ostgut Ton
The Ostgut label has grown out of the phenomenal Ostgut club in East Berlin that today is even wider known under the name of its new incarnation Berghain/Panorama Bar. The label was initiated as a platform for Berghain and Panorama Bar's residents as well as other artists the club has grown fond of over the time in its two locations. Stylistically it is open as possible without losing sight of the dance floor. It is strongly linked to the philosophy of the club as it pleases fans of harder techno (Berghain) and playful deep house (Panorama Bar) at the same time. Running just over two years the label has already established a standing far across the city borders with a few mixes, 14 divers Maxi releases, two LPs and a soundtrack for an unique event that took place in the club: Shut Up And Dance! Updated, a ballet presented by the Staatsballet Berlin combining so called 'high culture' of classical ballet with dance music and club culture.

One of Panorama Bar's most cherished residents Steffi mixes the fifth in the series. Aside from the three exclusive gems released prior, new material from Dexter, Juju & Jordash, Steffi herself, as well as a nice appearance from DJ Fett Burger ride strong in an engaging and challenging house workout. Essential!

Ahead of Steffi's hotly anticipated Panorama Bar mix, the first lot of exclusives appears. Headed up by Fred P (aka Black Jazz Consortium)'s busy yet smooth blissed out winder, Juju & Jordash's cheeky and hearty bumping bounce and Detroit's Big Strick gorgeously hazy 'Hayday'. Quality house for the lovers.

Since lending her vocals on Steffi's much loved 'Yours & Mine' album, Virginia makes a great production debut. Using her many years of DJ experience, infectious warm grooves dominate from the sassy shake of 'Neurosis', the cosmic funk bass of 'Loch & Hill' to the luscious vocal-led 'Tangish'.

Well into his second decade of techno production, solo and as part of Sandwell District, Dave Sumner aka Function releases his debut solo album. A different approach to his many mighty EPs and 12s, he accrues Tobias Freund as engineer for an epic, spacious and solemn listening journey of techno expertise. Bravo.

Sandwell District's David Sumner is subsumed into the Ostgut Ton family with his first EP and upcoming album. Haunting harrowing planes lead into two extended 'Gradient's, fastidious spine-tinglingly procured techno-realism, 'Incubation' an unerring war-cry before the battle. Set to be an epic, this one.

After last year's more adventurous 'Translation EP' as well as recent outings on Music Man and 50 Weapons, his 'Range EP' marks a return to the big room techno floor for Marcel Dettmann, who pleases fans of his more straight-forward techno productions with four sparse and massively pounding tracks.

Everyone's favourite Berghain resident-cum-lawyer Norman Nodge blends newer tracks from Oni Ayhun, Ctrls and Charlton with classic Detroit of Jeff Mills and DJ T-1000, an old corker from Chancellor/Chance McDermott, exclusives from Mark Broom, Patrick Gläser and Birds Two Cage on board too. Immaculate.

The Berghain resident adds to his steadily growing output with this latest EP, demonstrating his intricate crafting of quality techno tools. 'Frantic' is far from its title, more menacing in its uncanny calmness and tiny shifting details, alongside '6 In A Row's pulsating machinery and 'Mosaique's hypnotising bell-like melody.
