Guillaume Coutu Dumont hooks up with Dave Aju for one of the best releases on Oslo in recent times. 'Praise To The Beat Maker' is pure minimal funk with Aju providing spoken word lyrics, 'Promess-Lovin' takes an old-school house turn, and 'All You Have To Do' rocks it downtempo acid-disco style. Excellent!

Reboot aka Frank Heinrich makes his debut on Oslo with this sturdy three-track EP. 'Macchina' builds up punches and thrills with plenty of clinking noise and bass whilst 'En Place' has a more minimal approach teasing out tiny details and 'Frank und Frei' oozes a wobbling warmth. Solid.

Prolific Rumanian duo NoiDoi are steadily on the rise, serving their raw and functional house grooves this time via Frankfurt's Oslo label. Four minimalistic DJ tools beg to be mixed and arranged to your hearts content, and the break-beat allusions of 'Aprilie 6' make this one our favourite of the bunch.

Huge release by Oslo, compiling 15 exclusive tracks by all artists of the genre-defining minimal house imprint. Highlights come from Johnny D, Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts, and Sascha Dive, but if the current brand of vocal-snippet-heavy percussive house is your thing, the whole package is highly recommended.
