Night Slugs co-commandeer lets loose another clutch of prime-time dance fodder after his recent outing on Clone's Jack For Daze. 'Ballad 4D' takes a deep-sea plunge into unknown grime-techno coordinates, 'Not Mad' gloriously smears funk across clapped militance and 'Signal' assesses the aqua-funk underworld. Stonkin'.

Following up 2010's Volume 1, London's Night Slugs crew manage to consistently throw together a follow up compilation with almost as much grime/bass/house bravado as its predecessor. Alongside Bok Bok, L-Vis et al, newer signings Helix and Morri$ with Jam City's 'How We Relate...' a stand-out.
Following up on his much lauded album from earlier this year Jam City drops his programmatically titled 'Classical Club Mixes' - six cuts of inventive and adventurous bass music, from in-your-face drum assaults to reflective, electronica-tinged tracks. Highly original, warmly recommended.

Kingdom needs little more than a funky monosynth, a kickdrum and a handclap to nail it on his new EP. Add a few old school vocal snippets on 'Stalker Ha' and a hint of witchhouse on 'Hood By Air Theme' and you've got another great addition to the Night Slugs catalogue.

Jam City follows up last winter's 'Magic Drops' EP with a fine five-tracker: 'Waterwork' shows off freestyle squarewave riffs and stop-and-go rhythms that are as much a take on 1991 Sheffield bleep as they are on modern day UK funky house. Another winner from the Night Slugs camp.

One of the most recognizable tracks to appear on the sh*t-hot Night Slugs label, Girl Unit's 'Wut' defined the label's unique sound with its crystalline synths, catchy cut-up vocals, forward-thinking club mentality.
