Mutek_Rec Mutek_Rec
Originally founded in 2001, as a platform to release the annual compilation that accompanied the Mutek Festival in Montreal, Canada. Early releases also included collaborations with Eric Mattson's Oral imprint and featured experimental electronic and ambient albums by Goem, Richard Chartier + Ivan Pavlov, and the Quality Hotel album, a strong collaboration by Stephan Mathieu, Radboud Mens, Janek Schaefer, and Timeblind. In 2003, Mutek_Rec began to build its own roster with the release of Egg's 'Don't Postpone Joy'. Albums by Skoltz_Kolgen, Crackhaus, Marc Leclair, Skipsapiens (Chileans Pier Bucci + Daniel Nieto) and Stephen Beaupré followed. Along the way, the imprint also issued singles by all those artists, as well as acts like The Mole, Luci, J. Hunsberger and Ernesto Ferreyra.
