Since his release on Punch Drunk late last year, Bristol-based experimentalist Ekoplekz enters the eerie mansions of Mordant Music with this extensive psychedelic synth-dub freak-out. Freestyling analogue bleeps and otherworldly noises and rhythms carve out an ingeniously warped musical mind. Fantastic.

Pure class from Mordant Music on this sweet label compilation: 'Variables II' starts out with the bleep-step-pop of Autre Ne Veut (of Olde English Spelling Bee fame), and five more tracks by Ekoplekz, Sii, Some Troughs, and Mordant Music themselves keep the quality and eccentricity levels high. Ace!

Mordant Music presents a collection of the label's six Shackleton-related releases from 2004 to 2008, in entirety and in chronological order. Showcasing Shackleton's atypical approach to dubstep rhythms and tempos to its full glory, this is an essential introduction to both Shackleton and Mordant Music.
