Born in Zimbabwe and raised in London, Neilon Pitamber, aka,
dub KULT, started London's Living Records out of a desire to sidestep the rigid confines of genre specific labels in the electronic music scene. As a DJ for 15 years (10 of those as a producer of minimal and techno), Pitamber has closely watched electronic music evolve. Feeling that too many good electronic musicians were caught in the 'space between spaces' not necessarily identifying with one genre, and, therefore, not getting the public's attention, Pitamber created Living Records. Fitting with dub KULT's DJ style, the musical focus of the label is very much attuned to the dance floor with an experimental, leftfield edge. On Living Records are
Animaltek, Camaro & DK, Evirgen, Filterwolf,
From Karaoke To Stardom,
Lars Wickinger, Paulo DF,
Photonz, Randoman,
Supermatik Taylan, and
Vadim Lankov. A unique feature of Living is that each vinyl release will have a free exclusive MP3 that can be downloaded from the livingrecords.info website. These bonus tracks will have been choosen entirely by the artists.
