Kontra-Musik Kontra-Musik
Kontra-Musik Records is a new Swedish label out of Malmö, focusing on dubbed-out underground techno. Kontra-Musik cites as its goal to "bring 'music' back into techno", with a "fat production" being "important but not enough". With great releases so far by Agaric (a.k.a Patrik Skoog) or Mikael Stavöstrand, as well as input from Marcel Dettmann or dubstep artist Scuba Kontra-Musik sure look set to live up to their claim.

Never mind the gear fetishism - Rabih Beaini's reworks of Andreas Tilliander's tracks are two of the most radical and exciting techno pieces we've heard in a while: broadband synth staccati, rumbling beats, fierce feedbacks. Not quite dance music, but this will grip you nonetheless. Killer.

For his eighth full-length under his Mokira guise, Andreas Tilliander takes the project further in the direction of dub techno than ever before. It still echoes the distorted drones of his 2009 album for Type, 'Persona', but tracks like 'LFU Skank' strongly favour loop based grooves over improvisation. Lovely album.
