Kindred Spirits is the brainchild of Amsterdam DJ/promoter KC the Funkaholic, named after his clubnight in Paradiso. He joined forces with Rush Hour to start up the label and brought together a group of music fanatics who share the same vibes and ideas to spread their love and inspiration for music to a wider audience. This collective also reacts to the popular fast food music organizations. Just like eating healthy food, travelling or reading books, you can improve the quality of life by discovering inspiring music. Kindred Spirits is eager to discover and promote the music they are passionate about. This boundless mix exists of the deepest soul and jazz, the heaviest Latin and funk, boogie and disco, honest hip hop, Brazilian music and afro-beat, soulful house and new futuristic music styles.

Ian Grant returns to Kindred Spirits for his first album since 2008's 'Zen Badizm', and once again 'Soulful Shanghai' is laid out as a sprawling journey through soul-infused hip-hop, with influences coming from jazz, latin, and electronic music. Epic.

Viennese keyboard wunderkind Oliver Johnson a.k.a. Dorian Concept was one of the shooting stars this years with his heavily-anticipated debut album released in February. His music is situated at the more melodic end of the wonky spectrum, with loose 70s-influenced keys recalling the best space funk of that era. Fantastic!
