Get The Curse Music Get The Curse Music
'Go to the past, but look to the future, don't get bogged down in the present.' In just a few months, the six die-hard enthusiasts running the GTC blog have managed to position it as one of the leading underground club music institutions in France, but also on a global scale. GTC is also a household name for Parisian clubbers: over the last few years the collective has held successful residencies in the capital's most respected clubs with a focus on relevant, quality line-ups, inviting artists such as Radio Slave, Andrew Weatherall, François K, Superpitcher, Kiki, Solomun, Seth Troxler, Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, Damian Schwartz, Maetrik, Paul Ritch and Roman Flügel. But that wasn't enough for the proverbially hard to please Parisians: the time has come for the collective to launch Get The Curse Music, a vinyl and digital record label. Clement Meyer and Olibusta are experienced Djs now focusing on production work. Making the most of their experience of releasing material on Sei A's Seinan Music and Claude VonStroke's Mothership, they take the plunge and launch their own structure. They are teaming-up with up and coming French artists and friends Le Loup (of Wolf+Lamb fame) as well as Darabi in order to exercise their very personal sense of elegance and mastery of arcane codes of a very jackin' art-de-vivre. With an already dense release schedule, GGet The Curse Music is an unlikely combination of fucked-up techno, druggy electro, nightmarish disco and gloomy house, undoubtedly it will be a club-oriented label.
