Manchester's Illum Sphere receives the full remix treatment by the likes of Ikonika, Om Unit, Kidkanevil, and, perhaps most notably, James T. Cotton with a rare outing of his hip-hop guise Dabrye. Recommended compilation of bass music, old-school and new.

The counter-piece to Illum Shpere's recent debut album 'Long Live The Plan' proves that the young Mancunian producer has even more tricks up his sleeve. Its five tracks are denser than before, sometimes reminding of Amon Tobin with a combination of slurred, organic beats and feisty rave synths. Great!

Appearing on Fat City's Producer 2 compilation, dBridge's analog stomper 'ZX81' gets remixed by producers working on the cutting edge of the dancefloor, Shed (Ostgut Ton) and Ramadanman (Hessle Audio). Ramadanman's housier interpretation contrasts Shed's creepy skeletal techno. Excellent material.

With the to his acclaimed 2007 debut 'Working Nights' Trus'me manages to exceed all expectations with an audibly matured effort. Staying true to his funk and soul sample-based sound, Trus'me takes things to a whole new level with an array of talented live musicians and prominent collaborators.
