Electric Deluxe Electric Deluxe
Established in 2008 by Dutch DJ and stylish producer of techno, Speedy J, Electric Deluxe is more than a record label, it is platform for artists who are actively producing, performing and/or operating within any genre that is related to or influenced by techno. Along with discovering and promoting new talent, the goal of Electric Deluxe is also to promote the technological exploration and experimentation that is integral to the musical/creative process of producing techno. With artists like Chris Liebing, Tommy Four Seven, and Terence Fixmer to name but a few, Electric Deluxe strives to advance the evolution of techno as an art form as well as to educate the genre's fans about how electronic music and culture are merging in this digital age, and how this affects music's creation, distribution, intellectual property rights, etc.

Jochem Paap teams up with Glasgow's hotshot Gary Beck for a single on Electric Deluxe. 'Egoist' is a nicely reduced techno track with prominent filtered vocals to which each producer adds his own flavour across four distinct versions.

An excellent spin-off of Terence Fixmer's recent album, 'Comedy of Menace Part 2' features Niederflur, Brendon Moeller, and Speedy J on remixing duties, with each new version presenting a unique twist on the original. Recommended.

Speedy J might have turned towards dark and booming techno in recent years, but he still knows how to craft a subtle mood, albeit with fewer means: Superficially 'Shoegaze' consists of a little more than a relentlessly pounding beat, but its gently dubbed-out washes of sound unfold a perfectly hypnotic beauty.

A new addition to the roster of Speedy J's Electric Deluxe imprint is LA's David Flores a.k.a. Audio Injection, who delivers four pumping, industrial techno cuts on his debut for the label. Two DJ-friendly 12-minute-long remakes come from Speedy J, and an additional remix by fellow Californian Drumcell.

Always pushing the boundaries of techno music, Speedy J unleashes 'Trails', a slow-burning, washed-out 14-minute monster of a track. Comes with a more functional bonus beat dub, and not one, not two, but four different versions by Glasgow's Edit Select.

Great return for former Gigolo man Terence Fixmer with an EP of deep, stomping and minimal chord & bleep techno, which fans of Ostgut, Sandwell District or Sleeparchive should absolutely love. Comes with a fitting remix by Luke Slater's Planetary Assault Systems.

Terence Fixmer's return to Electric Deluxe, run by Jochem Paap AKA Speedy J, sees the French techno pioneer delivering his signature brand of relentless, industrial techno. Sandwell District's Function gets enlisted for a sparse, paranoid re-envisioning of "Electric City."
