Drumpoet Community Drumpoet Community
Always on the run to find the latest beat and the freshest sound, the Drumpoet founders share the same vision and taste when it comes to music, and in a city like Zurich it was just a matter of time before they met and decided to start the Drumpoet Community. They started exchanging music and dj-ing together and realised that they had a similar style of making, listening & supporting music. Amazed to have found like-minded people, they decided to create a new platform for their music and joined forces to keep Zurich's open-minded music scene alive. Sharing the same love for soul, disco, hip hop, house and detroit as well as electro, they are now aiming for new musical levels, a combination which incorporates all the beloved styles into a mix which they like to call b-boy house & technosoul. The philosophy of the Drumpoet Community is to create touching, emotional and honest music without trying to follow the latest fashion. It's a collective of people with very distinguished musical tastes. The most important thing is to use this platform to help establish unknown artists and music which moves your soul as well as your body! Expect the unexpected, 'cause it's all about a feeling and mostly about the passion for music! Drumpoet Community also do club nights featuring people like Âme, Dixon, Henrik Schwarz, Maurice Fulton, Chateau Flight and many others. Their home base is Zurich's sweetest Club - "Zukunft" - where the 3 DJs, Alex Dallas, Ron Shiller and Lexx, push for new musical levels. Always thinking about the future and change, the revolution has just begun. A movement for those who are not as others!

Fine house record by the Jayson Brothers on the Drumpoet Community label, whose consistency of output is more than impressive. 'The Game' is a classic New York house inspired track with a heavy kick drum and up-lifitng vocals, 'Keep On Dancin' is great builder with nice chords and a funky base-line. Cool record.

Two mighty cuts from A Forest Mighty Black aka Bernd Kunz, 'In My Life' featuring Geraldine Roth on vocals gushes classic piano house feel-good grooves, updated in an irresistible Drumpoet style. 'The Far Side' warm and heady, teasingly sedate for early morning dancers. Ideal.

Swiss deep-house producer Agnès unleashes this EP under his Cavalier moniker, ahead of a much anticipated full album later this year. Expertly cast warm and addictive grooves, with the effortless grace of his lovingly groomed horse imagery. Timeless and lush, with a tasty 90s euphoria. Excellent.

AFMB aka A Forest Mighty Black with releases in the 90s on Compost Records and as part of The Lost Men, now reemerges with this killer single. Old school house hedonism in the euphoric 'Backup Days' and tighter techier 'Nasty Disposition' will keep you jacking. Hands in the air!

Galway's John Daly contributes a firm but kind deep house single on Zurich's Drumpoet Community. As ever, his productions immediately sink you comfortably into the dancefloor, the title track 'Big Piano' vibing dub techno, the others touching on disco, electro and ambient in Daly's understated style. Excellent.

Tokyo's Yosa might be a tough guy, but his debut for Drumpoet Community is anything but: Three delicate, soulful house tracks, of which the wild-pitch and 'French Kiss' inspired 'Rough Jam' is the one for the dance-floor and the low-slung 'Rough Trade' is our personal fave. Nice.

Another super-solid release from the Drumpoet camp, featuring Hunee with one of his finest productions to date: the amazing 'Took My Love'. Three more tracks by DC, Kawabata, and Vienna's Johannes Lehner make this an outstanding compilation. Recommended.
