Founded in 1996, Dominance Records started out releasing german hardcore/electro-hiphop (think early LL Cool J, T La Rock, Mantronix) by artists like 808 Mafia, Hartkor Kinkxz, Ko Lute and some electro productions by Dagobert and Prime Dominance.
The label's focus gradually shifted towards old-school flavored electro and in the year 2000 the sublabel Dominance Electricity was founded for electro releases only. Next to the label's main acts Sbassship and Dagobert there are releases by international electro-artists like Mandroid (Breakin' Records), Dynamik Bass System (Gigolo Records), MAS 2008 (Twilight 76, Electronic Corporation), Decal (Satamile Records), Imatran Voima (Telektro Records) and even old-school legends such as Newcleus.
Since 2003 Dominance Records also releases the breaks/funk/hip hop 'Soundtrack' albums accompanying the annual international breakdance festival in Germany, 'Battle Of The Year'.
