Established in 1898 and based in Hamburg, the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft was founded by German-born United States citizen Emile Berliner. Having survived two world wars and several mergers, Deutsche Grammophon, perhaps best known for its release of mainstream classical recordings, has in the last several years built an impressive roster of electronic musicians. With artists like Carl Craig and Moritz Von Oswald and their co-produced release 'Recomposed', Jimi Tenor, and Ricardo Villalobos, Deutsche Grammophon is creating a new and exciting musical identity for itself.
