Dance Mania is a legend in Chicago house. Originally founded by Jesse Saunders in 1985, the label to Raymond Barney when Saunders left for Los Angeles in 1986. Dance Mania became known for raw, jacking Chicago house from the very beginning with hits like Lil' Louis' 'Video Clash', Hercules' '7 Ways' and Robert Armani's 'Ambulance'. From the 1990s on Dance Mania started to represent a new generation of Chicago house artists like DJ Deeon and DJ Slugo, whose accelerated 'ghetto house' eventually led to the development of styles like Juke or Footworkin'.
