Circus Company Circus Company
Started in 2003 by the boys behind Nôze, Parisian label Circus Company has been pioneering a special brand of cut-up and crunchy minimal techno. The label's style has been significantly shaped by Ark, whose 'Alleluyark' series made up its first four releases, but within recent year's many other known artists have contributed fitting material to Circus Company, including Dj Koze, Audio Werner or Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts.

Following up his masterful 2008 debut 'Open Wide' Dave Aju returns to Circus Company for a second album. And 'Heirlooms' is indeed a worthy successor: Ten tracks fuse authentic George-Clinoesque electro funk, house, techno and jazz with more punch then ever before. Pure class.

Alexis Benard appears once more as on esteemed Paris house label Circus Company, 'Lutetia' warm and shuffly heady house with attention to soulful detail, 'Don't Trust' wistful addictive vocals over tense chords. Stylish, immaculately produced house music with a melancholic-euphoric edge.

Two of Germany's acclaimed house protagonists collaborate proper for the first time for France's Circus Company. 'Sumback' deep, sunbeam house effortlessly activating the dance bone, two versions of 'Steam', which delves into more experimental robotic terrain and a softer Aera mix. Recommended.

dOP's Damian and Clement team up with vocalist Brian Brewster as Aquarius Heaven. Their debut EP for Circus Company sets the mood with four deep and polished tracks that span Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound style electronic dub, deep house, and even some electro flavours on closing track 'Universe'. Recommended.

After Moon Harbour and New Kanada Alexis Benard a.k.a. Seuil adds yet another fine label to his extensive discography. His debut EP Circus Company debut certainly highlights the French producer's strengths: Four cuts of idiosyncratic, slightly quirky house music, with a deep and edgy touch. Nice!
