Witty, experimental house from Crowdpleaser on Vienna's Cheap Records, 'Spiesser' a lofty jazz melody offset with a disheveled set of beats and 'Sequenza on (E)' a jaunty theatrical cross between avantgarde and Balkan. Charming and unique with a genuine improvised feel. Very recommended!

Legendary release comprising all three iO records 'Attack', 'Decay' and 'Sustain Release' on one album. Ranging from hard techno tracks to uplifting and timeless classics such as 'Claire' and 'Crossroads', the importance of this album is hard to put into words. Classic!

One of Potuznik's finest releases. 'Up North They Are Free' has dry and jacking 909 jams sit by side with funky wild-pitch acid, and 'Solid Gold' is still one of our favourite Potuznik tracks, employing a jazzy 6 by 4 rhythm that you shouldn't even try to mix.

Discovered in the bar of a Viennese hotel, Louie Austen launched quite a remarkable second career backed by the Cheap Records all-stars. Combining Austen's rat pack crooning with abstract electronics provided by Mario Neugebauer, 'Consequences' is a remakably playful and distinct album.

An absolutely classic album by Pulsinger & Tunakan from 1997, 'Carrera' still stands tall with its brilliant mix of free-style sampling, sophisticated breaks and analogue production. This is the album that can be credited for bringing jazz (back) into techno in a good way. Essential.

Understated yet poignant, Tin Man's mini-album, 'Cool Wave', drifts and sways gently across 6 tracks. Truly an eccentric, Johannes Auvinen's whisper-thin vocals caress and frighten creating a altogether ominous, yet strangely, slightly uplifting feeling.

Constructed of minimalistic distorted drum patterns in true Mika Vaino fashion, 'Keimola' surprises as an abstract, yet groovy techno EP, more direct and danceable than many of Vainio's other productions. Kentolevi is an anagram of Vaino's Tekonivel pseudonym, but another fitting one would be 'Evil Tekno'... Heavily recommended.

Quite an underrated release on Cheap Records from 2001, Nuwalker's 'Pro.Files' exhibits a combination of analog house music production and the sensible songwriting and execution of Ken Cesar on vocals. Forgotten gem and insider's tip!
