Basic Channel Basic Channel
While most releases on the Basic Channel label came out in 1994 and 1995, their influence on electronic music can hardly be overestimated. By crossing the seemingly disparate genres of techno and dub, Basic Channel's founders Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus have created a style that has since served as a musical template for a myriad of productions. Shifting their focus more and more away from techno towards towards the exploration of dub music, von Oswald and Ernestus continued to found new labels dedicated to their evolving output: Among them Main Street for a series of soulful house production, Chain Reaction for deeper and dubbier techno, Rhythm & Sound and Burial Mix for dub productions and Basic Replay and Wackie's for dub and reggae reissues.

Elektro Guzzi: "Basic Channel has always been an important source of inspiration for Elektro Guzzi. This classic track is just one example of their unique sound that has an immense deepness and is both minimal and multi-layered at the same time."
