The Amsterdam based imprint 100% Pure was founded in 1992 by Sandy Hunter, Dylan Hermelijn (a.k.a. 2000 and One and Edge of Motion). Since its inception the label has been dedicated to the deeper and more soulful variants of techno. 100% Pure released some of the earliest works of Steve Rachmad, Jerome, Stefan Robbers & Orlando Voorn. In 1997, the predominance of hard, loop-based techno as well as the insolvency of its distributor forced the label out of business. Thoroughly disillusioned, Dylan Hermelijn decided to leave the music scene altogether. In 2003, however, his interest in techno music was rekindled and with fresh input from bright new talent like DJ Madskillz, Dave Ellesmere, and most notably shooting star Shinedoe. 100% Pure was reborn to universal acclaim. Hungry for new projects, Hermelijn set up Intacto Records in 2004 (together with Shinedoe) and a new sub-label Remote Area in 2006, covering respectively the more functional and the more experimental side of Hermelijn's distinguished production work and that of his impressive roster of artists.
