Dear Visitors from R.fm,

This is the place where R.fm, the ultimate site for electronic music videos, presents special releases with a focus on the visual side of electronic music culture.

This month's choice is 'The Bird And The Beat', the new album of Gomma label-head Mathias Modica a.k.a. Munk.

The album comes as a Video Edition exclusive to zero", featuring all fourteen of the album's tracks as well as three stylish music videos, directed by Kill The Tills.

This is the first Munk album recorded by Mathias Modica alone without the involvement of his long-time partner Jonas Imbery a.k.a. Telonius. 'The Bird And The Beat' is nonetheless a true Munk album, combining disco and funk with a healthy dose of pop for the project's extravagant trademark sound.

And while Modica played almost all instruments by himself this time around, Imbery's absence is made up for by an all-star cast of contributors: Etienne de Crécy, Alex Gopher, Jan Driver, and Ben Mono behind the mixing desk, as well as ten talented girls from from around the world behind the mic, among them New Young Pony Club's Lou Hayter, Koko Von Napoo's Clara Cometti, Permanent Vacation's Pollyester, and Vienna's baile funk queen Joyce Muniz.

Album released 25-02-2011 on Gomma
Gomma head-honcho Mathias Modica presents his follow-up album to 2008's 'Cloudbuster', further polishing his decadent disco funk with the help of lovely guest vocalists like Pollyester and Koko Von Napoo's Clara Cometti. Good, stylish, and very sexy fun.
For well over ten years Munk and Telonius have been running their Gomma imprint, establishing the label as Germany's prime label for eclectic dance pop. Check some of the highlights from Gomma's great catalogue below.
