The Red Bull Music Academy is a platform for those who shape our musical future, a music workshop that has been travelling the world since 1998.
For two weeks, 60 selected participants - producers, vocalists, DJs, instrumentalists, and all-round musical mavericks from all around the globe - come together to check gear, chat on tunes, play in clubs, get a rare glimpse into local musical hybrids in a different country, swap musical visions in the studio, and discover closely-guarded secrets of mixing desk magic - straight from those who started revolutions in sound.
In the past the Red Bull Music Academy took place in London (2010), Barcelona (2008), Toronto (2007), Melbourne (2006), Seattle (2005), Rome (2004), Cape Town (2003) and Sao Paulo (2002).

For the sixth edition of free releases hosted exclusively on zero", the Red Bull Music Academy presents a new series, called 'A Class Of Its Own'. Including collaborations between academy participants and lecturers the first volume features the sublime talents of Andreya Triyana, Om'mas Keith, and Osborne, while many more RBMA alumni star in the included video 'How To Apply For The Red Bull Music Academy'.
Applications for the Red Bull Music Academy 2011, which has now been scheduled to take place in Madrid instead of Tokyo, are still possible until April 26, so give it a go!
