Located around 50km north of neighbouring Johannesburg, Pretoria is one of South Africa's three capital cities and serves as the country's administrative and de facto national capital. During the times of the Apartheid system, the city had a rather sinister image, Pretoria's political reputation however changed with the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as the country's first non-apartheid President taking place there. Pretoria is home to a number of well known South African bands and musicians, the city's most famous electronic music artist being DJ Mujava, who grew up in Pretoria's Attridgeville township.
