Both its industrial heritage and vivid electronic music scene led to Glasgow being regarded as a 'British Detroit', and in the past years the city has indeed been one of the UK's hotspots for daring underground productions. In the wake of techno veterans like Slam and their Soma label, a new breed of artists such as Rustie rose to fame by mashing up classic Detroit influences with fresh broken beats. All the while record shops such as Rubadub and clubs like Numbers provide Glaswegians with a constant supply of fresh and high-quality music.
