While the mid-sized city of Ghent has a long tradition in the field of high culture, with its historic city core attracting musicians, poets and painters alike, it has also become the centre of the Belgian electronic music scene since the late 80s. With R&S Records Ghent was home to one of the most successful rave-techno labels of the 90s and today many clubs, artists and festivals like the famous 'I Love Techno' are upholding this tradition.
