With a population of 2.5 million, Cali is the third largest city in Colombia and one of the countries major economic centres, mainly due to the city's proximity to the port-city of Buenaventura. Cali is also known as Colombia's 'Capital de la Salsa' given the city's infatuation with that type of Afro-Caribbean music.
