Founded in 1630 Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, as well as the largest city in New England, with a population of 650.000 and 4.5 million people living in the Greater Boston area. Known as a 'rock city' for bands like Aerosmith and the Pixies, which hail from the Massachusetts capital, Boston has recently become home to a small but active electronic music scene as well, represented by acts like Soul Clap and events like The New England Electronic Music Festival, the inaugural edition of which took place in February 2010.
