Vienna's unique festival for audio-visual art once again opens its doors this Friday. Get ready for three weeks of club nights, performances, workshops and installations and download the free sound:frame 2010 compilation with videos and tracks by participating artists like Lusine, Planningtorock and the Sofa Surfers.
For this year's fourth edition of sound:frame the organisers have chosen 'Dimensions' as a topic, bringing visuals and music to a range of public and private spaces during the course of the festival. Besides a wealth of workshops, panels, screenings and installations, sound:frame has compiled an excellent club programme, featuring international artists like Âme, Jori Hulkkonen, Steffi and Maayan Nidam.

In keeping with the festival's theme, the official sound:frame 2010 festival compilation - presented by Austrian the gap magazine and available for free download on zero" - includes videos as well as tracks by participating artists.
Spatial explorations with AntiVJ, stop-motion geometry with Lusine, and the brand new Sofa Surfers video all feature in the visual department, while the audio selection highlights new Viennese artists, such as Drumpoet's Johannes Lehner, Detroit-techno stalwarts Channel-F or electro-rockers The Understate. |
