Hello,
While Berlin's legendary techno bunker Tresor has recently expanded to China by opening a venue in Beijing, it has been a bit quiet around the club's seminal label in recent years. For well over a decade however the Tresor imprint has been one of the most influential imprints in electronic music, acting as a bridge between Detroit and Europe's techno scenes.
On the occasion of Tresor reissues by artists like Robert Hood, Jeff Mills, Surgeon, and Matthew Herbert, we present a selection of undisputed classics from the label, ranging from the banging funky techno of Cristian Vogel to the pioneering electro of Drexciya.
All full-length Tresor albums are now available for a special price. If your hungry for more, check out the full Tresor catalogue with plenty of releases available through zero" only. |

Double-Album released 02-09-2008 on Tresor
X-102 was a landmark album in 1992 recorded by UR's Banks/Mills/Hood line-up. Ice-cold, conceptual sc-fi techno that demonstrated the possibilities of techno far beyond the 12" format. In 2008 this deep-space monolith got remastered and recompiled with plenty of extra tracks. Monumental.

Album released 01-01-2002 on Tresor
The first in Drexciya's Storm series and their second album for Tresor, 'Harnessed The Storm' marks the groups transition from analogue to digital production. 'Digital Tsunami', 'The Plankton Organization', and 'Lake Haze' stand out as bona-fide classics, but this is a perfect album throughout.

Album released 01-10-2002 on Tresor
Drexciya's 7th and final Storm, 'The Cosmic Memoirs' is possibly the high point of James Stinson's much too brief exploration of digital sound generation. The tracks oscillate between harsh percussive noises and warm analogue harmonics in a way that set Stinson light years apart from his imitators. Sleeper classic.

Album released 01-11-1999 on Tresor
1999's album 'Neptune's Lair' remains as one of the greatest works by the shadowy Detroit Electro group known as Drexciya. Exploring a wide range of their sound over 21 short transmissions, this, their first post-UR album, is an absolutely essential addition to the expansive Drexciya canon.

Album released 01-11-2001 on Tresor
Another landmark release from the mighty Drexciya and part of their alleged seven storm series. In our humble opinion this is even among the best releases from that series and the finest techno and electro money can buy. Essential!

Album released 05-07-1998 on Tresor
Pacou's programmatic album from 1998 was recently remastered and shines in all its analogue splendour. 13 tracks of dry and funky techno patterns, marking the transition between Pacou's earlier Hood/Mills-inspired work and the more fragile (dub)techno of his Cache label.

Album released 29-10-2007 on Tresor
Strongly positioned as advanced, highly-technological music, as intensely detailed by Cristian Vogel himself in the 2007 press release for 'The Never Engine', his first album since 2003's 'Dungeon Master' surely delivers on these statements with its meticulous arrangements and advanced sound design.

Double-Album released 01-02-2003 on Tresor
Yet another classic album from Cristian Vogel which impressively showcases his diversity as a producer. 'Dungeon Master' combines Vogel's passion for experimental sound design with unique funk shuffles and hyperactive edits. A full one-hour live set comes included as a bonus.

Known for his grand stylistic shifts, Neil Landstrumm's 'She Took A Bullet For Me' combines instrumental hip-hop, trashy UK breakbeat, and straight up techno, bridging the gap between his work for Peacefrog and Planet Mu.

Album released 01-06-1995 on Tresor
Cristian Vogel's debut album from 1994 firmly established him as one of the hottest producers of the time. Pure bleepy machine funk across its eight tracks, paving the way for his subsequent success with Super Collider. Classic.

Album released 01-03-1996 on Tresor
Second album for Cristian Vogel on Tresor with eight more tracks proving his dancefloor mastery. Quite typical for the time the tracks are paced around 140 - 150 bpm, combining contagious rhythms, funked-up, bleepy synths, and the most subtle of breakdowns.

Maxi-Single released 01-01-1997 on Tresor
This is one of the earlier get-togethers of Cristian Vogel and Jamie Lidell. Placing his hands on Vogel‘s '(Don't ) Take More', Lidell changed Vogel's more laid back vocal sample version into an unforgettable dancefloor smasher, somewhere between genius and madness. Still burning hot!

EP released 01-01-1999 on Tresor
Hard hitting, classic material from Stewart Walker with his first EP for Tresor, which should mark a prosperous collaboration with more insane material to come. Adding some extra space between the kick and the hi-hat, these tracks aged very well and are still very playable. Recommended!
