Of Finnish descent, but born and raised in California, Johannes Auvinen a.k.a. Tin Man has been making waves in L.A.'s art scene before launching his Global A label project in 2005. His first two releases, 'Places' and 'Acid Acid', weighed in at three pieces of vinyl each, showcasing the man's two major musical passions: Fragile, experimental electronica on one side, and deep, puristic acid house on the other.
Auvinen has since released two highly acclaimed 12"s on Säkho's house label Keys Of Life and has recently relocated to Vienna, a town perfectly fitting his deep and moody productions. His most recent outing, just released on Global A, is the mini album 'Wasteland', on which Tin Man once again showcases his more experimental side: Six deep and fragile tracks of sparse rhythm work and atmospheric layers of sound that serve as a perfect backing for his distinct, laid-back vocal style. Another EP for Vienna's Cheap Records label, for which the 'Constant Confusion' video below serves as a teaser, is set to appear later this autumn.
