It is a fitting occasion that complements Dopplereffekt's deep obsession with astrophysics, which manifested itself most recently in the album 'Calabi Yau Space' for the Rephlex label. Dopplereffekt even created the soundtrack for a recorded lecture on quantum physics by Anton Zeilinger, famed professor from the Institute of Experimental Physics of the University of Vienna, Austria.

Dopplereffekt first came into the public eye in 1995 with a series of low-budget releases on their own Dataphysix Engineering label, melding Detroit techno and Kraftwerk influences with a controversial image that immediately grabbed the public's attention. Dopplereffekt was eventually signed to International DJ Gigolo Records, but despite their huge influence on the late 90s Electro revival and Electroclash trend, the group decided to take their sound to a new and more abstract level with the entirely beatless 'Myon-Neutrino / Z-Boson' single and subsequent albums for Gigolo and - most recently - Rephlex. The classic and much sought-after early releases have however been compiled and re-released under the title 'Gesamtkunstwerk'.

Next week Dopplereffekt will be bringing their live show to Berlin's Club Maria Ostbahnhof, for Adam X and Nadja Belabidi's club concept night Crossing The Parallel. The idea behind the night is to showcase the most forward thinking, futuristic and dark techno, industrial, electro, EBM, ambient and experimental sounds, and to help people from a cross section of different music scenes discover artists whose music is relevant to the music they already listen to.

This 4th installment in the Crossing The Parallel series is sure to be a highlight with further live performances from Plastic De Reve and Adam X, and DJ sets from Scion Versions' DJ Pete, Agent Provocateur, Paradroid and Drill.
