This week's podcast showcases of one of our favourite labels at the moment: Frankfurt's Live At Robert Johnson (LARJ) imprint, with sets by Roman Flügel and Oliver Hafenbauer.

Associated with the legendary club of the same name, LARJ was set up in 2008 by DJ icon Ata to pick up where his previous labels Playhouse and Klang Elektronik have left off.

Managed by Oliver Hafenbauer (of B.H.F.V.) and supported by star producer Roman Flügel the label has so far done an admirable job to represent the eclectic spirit of Robert Johnson's famous club nights.

With releases by artists like Arto Mwambe, Massimiliano Pagliara, and Plein Soleil (Kikor and Chloé) LARJ has so far covered a musical spectrum that ranges from authentic new-wave disco (as featured on Ata's recent 'Live At Robert Johnson Vol.7') to modern house and electro with classic influences.

For our podcast this week two of the main people behind Live At Robert Johnson have teamed up, each contributing a half-hour mix. Oliver Hafenbauer is the first one up. His mix continues the style of his recent 'ET 01 - 06' release, which he recorded together with Arto Mwambe's Christian Beißwenger as B.H.F.V.: contemporary electro that unites both US and European aspects of the style.

After Hafenbauer's set Roman Flügel takes over the decks. The man barely needs an introduction - as a prolific solo producer and as a member of Acid Jesus and Alter Ego, Flügel is one of the most highly regarded German electronic music artists. His 'Desperate Housemen EP' has just appeared on LARJ and we're looking forward to his new EP 'Brasil' on Dial, out any day now, as well as a full album for the label coming in autumn.
