Originally hailing from the western parts of Austria, Oliver Kargl a.k.a. Rndm has been part of the Dial label's tightly knit family of artists for many years now.
Rndm started DJing techno and Chicago house in his home town's Stone Club before moving to Vienna in the late 1990s. It was there he met Philipp Sollman, better known as Efdemin, who at the time was studying at Vienna's Institute for Composition and Electroacoustics, ELAK. Sharing a common love for both house music and experimental sounds, the two started recording together as Pigon in 2004. Refining their approach to analogue club music in endless live recording sessions Pigon released two highly successful EPs on Dial, 'Little Albio Street' in 2006 followed by 'Promises' in 2007. The same year both Rndm and Efdemin moved to Berlin to set up a new studio together. Rndm went on to record two EPs for Dial's vinyl-only subsidiary Laid, while contributions by both Rndm and Pigon appeared on Dial's excellent 'You Are My Mate' and '2010' compilations. New works from both of Oliver Kargl's projects are currently on the way: As Rndm he will shortly release an EP on Efdemin's Naïf imprint, while a new Pigon release is forthcoming on Dial. |

| Rndm's podcast for zero" reflects his love for deep and soulful house music as well as his background in experimental sound art. Building on the techno jazz of The Detroit Escalator Co. and Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Rndm navigates through classic and contemporary house music by Virgo, Nick Höppner, and Anthony Shakir, adding experimental touches with Actress and Hieroglyphic Being, before ending his stunning mix with Oneohtrix Point Never's sentimental favourite, 'Returnal'. | |||||
