For this week's podcast we're pleased to have a true veteran player show off his skills and eclectic music taste: Christian Kreuz a.k.a. Dakar.
Originally hailing from Munich, Dakar has been a resident DJ in the city's legendary Ultraschall club for eight years and has recorded his music for labels such as Get Physical, Disko B, and most recently Gomma. Many will further know the charismatic neo-Berliner as part of Dakar & Grinser, the electro pop outfit he formed together with Michael Kuhn. With numerous singles and their 1999 album 'Are You Really Satisfied Now' the two became poster boys of the booming electroclash movement at the time. In 2005 they reunited to record their second album, 'Triumph Of Flesh'. As a solo artist Christian Kreuz has been both recording German-language indie-pop under his real name as well as eclectic dance music as Dakar, his latest project being a collaboration with Barcelona's disco-rave hero Golden Bug. Their 'Magia Potagia EP' has just been released on Gomma Dance Tracks in May. |
