The Jazzman label compiles this essential volume of American jazz musicians recording Europe in the 50s and 60s. Absolutely fantastic and inspiring sounds by greats like Johnny Hawksworth & Hampton Hawes, Sun Ra, Albert Ayler, Don Cherry, and many more. Great.

Former Sun Ra trumpeter Phil Cohran proves that he still has the edge at 80+, recording this wonderfully swinging album for Honest Jon's together with his extended family, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Wobbly, percussive jazz, mellowing out in brass blues songs towards the end of the playlist. Excellent.

Swedish sax legend Mast Gustafsson returns to Editions Mego with another storming collaboration. Now resident in Vienna he teams up with fellow experimentalists dieb13 and Martin Siewert for '(Fake) The Facts', three strong sessions of reflective notes and massive drones. Recommended.
