Hailing from Spain and France respectively, the two guys behind Los Massieras are no strangers to Berlin's in-crowd party scene: Hugo Capablanca (of Discos Capablanca) has been dedicating his popular Friday nights at the Tausend Bar to the sounds of new and rare disco tunes, while David Ducaruge is the man behind Sex In Dallas and other, more secretive, projects in the field of electro, disco and pop.
A testimony to the pair's intimate knowledge of 70s dance music, Los Massieras' 'Boogity Boogity Boogity' is a tribute to disco pioneers like Tom Moulton and David Mancuso, as well as to the spirit of treating rock music as just another influence and sound source for loose and organic dance-floor beats. Having received enthusiastic reviews in mags like Pitchfork, 'Boogity Boogity Boogity's has previously been sold at hip design shops such as Wood Wood, and is now available exclusively from zero" in digital format, including a great animated video by Gerson Aguerri! |
