Album released 07-06-2010 on Dial
Efdemin names his second album after a city he's never been to, making 'Chicago' an album about utopian concepts rather than a literal tribute. Drawing on electro-acoustic music, jazz and - yes - jacking house beats for inspiration, this is a beautifully mature and highly recommended album.
German techno grandmaster Johannes Heil drops his ninth album, his first via Cocoon, and it's a big one. 'Loving' perfectly epitomises what we like about Heil's style of techno: It's seemingly effortless, immediately danceable music, yet never lacks groove or subtlety. Recommended.

Album released 14-06-2010 on M-Plant
Minimal techno pioneer Robert Hood returns with a new album, the first one since 2003's 'Wire To Wire'. With the exception of the jazzy introduction of 'The Plague', 'Omega ' is puristic 'Math Assassin' style - Detroit techno reduced to bare-bone machine funk, both deep and devastating. Classic.
Album released 25-10-2010 on Dial
The first signing to Dial outside their close circle, John Roberts' debut album fits right in with the top-notch output they've had this year. Deftly creating luscious hues with crackly samples, melodies and old school house elements in a distinctly soulful way, it's a strong contender for house album of the year.
