Despite their young age, Hannes and Andi Teichmann are old hands of the German music scene. Founding their first punk band in home town Regensburg at age 10 and 13, the Gebrüder Teichmann ('Brothers Teichmann') haven't left the stage since: In 1999 they started their own label Festplatten, while recording for Kompakt, Disko B and preserving their analogue roots as part of successful indie band Beige GT. The brothers' music liberally references diverse musical styles, from minimal techno to rock, from rave to pop music, and has found them a large international following - not only in Europe but also in Asia, where the Teichmanns will be touring China and Vietnam in November, and their album 'The Number Of The Beat' has recently seen a Japanese release.
As an addition to their well-established Festplatten label, the brothers have just launched a new playground for their unbounded creativity: Teichtracks. The new imprint's first release 'Time's Up / Hands Up' sets the label off in a floor-friendly, acid- and Detroit-tinged direction: The grungy groover 'Time's Up' is complemented by its straightened-out edit 'Hands Up', which replaces the broken beat allusions of the original with a more functional techno feel, doing more than justice to its title.

We are more than happy that the Teichmanns have chosen zero" to launch Teichtracks for the first time in digital format. Don't miss!
