After FlyLo has shocked the world with his brilliant 'Cosmogramma' album last month, his Brainfeeder label is picking up speed as well. Latest signing is Marcos Ortega a.k.a. Lorn, whose debut album 'Nothing Else' is out today.

Slightly less inclined to abstraction than his mentor, Lorn produces dubstep-infused neo-hip-hop with a dramatic, orchestral edge. Much in the vein of Mark Pritchard's Harmonic 313 project, Lorn's instrumental tracks combine references to library music and video game soundtracks with razor-sharp beats.

Hailing 'from the middle of nowhere in Illinois', Lorn is Brainfeeder's only artist who is not based in L.A., but 'Nothing Else' is a great debut LP that proves him a perfect addition to the label.
