Arto Mwambe's identity might have remained a secret for many years, but the mysterious entity's sound has become immediately recognisable through a series of bona fide hits. The epic, chord-powered 'Ombala Mbembo' from 2007 for instance, or the disco-flavoured 'Une Seule Nuit (Mix De Danse)' from 2008 combined the best of house music old and new: Classic drum machine beats, gripping arrangements, and a liberal, yet ingenious approach to sampling.
In 2010 the veil has lifted on Arto Mwambe, now known to be the project of Frankfurt based producers Christian Beißwenger and Phillip Lauer, and while Lauer's label Brontosaurus has recently turned vinyl-only, fans are being treated to an entire album of Arto Mwambe's music via the Live At Robert Johnson series of Frankfurt's eponymous club.

Arto Mwambe's 'Live At Robert Johnson Vol.6' comprises a full one hour studio session along with eight of the set's single tracks, and the piano-drenched 'Duster FC' accompanies the album as a highly recommended single release.

For zero" Arto Mwambe have selected five of their favourite tracks, all little known gems matching their unmistakable style.
Track released 28-05-2010 on I'm Single
Arto Mwambe: "Torske is a top guy from Norway. We still listen to Knekkebrød every day before we wake up!"
Track released 06-04-2009 on Sahko Recordings
Arto Mwambe: "Picked this one because of Dr. Scratch Vibe a.k.a. Moritz Von Fulton - definitely a huge influence when Arto Mwambe was started."
Track released 18-09-2009 on Running Back
Arto Mwambe: "A very sharp and large real drum disko sword! Although on a strange label this mix is on point. Played it a lot! The vinyl is separated in three different parts by Eye-Cue-Cutting - Very helpful!"
Track released 14-12-2009 on Polyfon
Arto Mwambe: "If we had to cast a techno band, Lowtec would be the man on the Hihats. This is another great release on the equally steady Polyphon label!"
