Simon James is the 35-year-old Scottish born musician and singer behind the alias Woolfy. In 1999 he met Dan Hastie in a run down bar in downtown LA and together the two started to make music under the name of Projections, influenced by dirty disco, funk, psychedelic rock and house music. Their first single on Chicago's Guidance label became a minor hit, ending up on many compilations, and the guys went on to record a full album as Projections, which created major waves in the electronic music scene. As Woolfy vs. Projections they have recently recorded the concept album 'The Astral Projections Of Starlight' for Permanent Vacation

Magda, Martyn, Modeselektor
Compilations have been the big thing this November, and no matter whether your poison's techno, dubstep, juke, or hip-hop, this month had something in store for you: Ostgut Ton's 'Fünf', Modeselektor's 'Modeselektion', Ghettophiles 'Overkill' and Listen Up's more...
Woolfy's 'Looking Glass' is a haunting dancepop dream, perfectly formed indie-synth melancholia complete with a mournful vocal. DFA mix this up with an acid-pumped psychedlic remix by Foolish Felix, but the deep and gorgeously hypnotic remix by Canyons takes the cake. Very nice.
