Currently going from strength to strength, 'Rückverzauberung 6' is Wolfgang Voigt's contribution to the likewise excellent Magazine label - 27 minutes of eerily artificial opera choirs and vocal drones culminating in a techno-fied finale. Killer material.
Wolfgang Voigt takes his 'Freiland Klaviermusik' project to album level, compiling the project's first EP from 2008 and plenty of new tracks. 'Freiland' blurs the boundaries of classical music and techno, combining improvisational piano playing with 4-by-4 kick drums. Adventurous and - as always - highly recommended.

Strong contender for freakiest cover of the year, Wolfgang Voigt's new project pays tribute to Frank Kafka, using only samples taken from a Kafka audiobook and a bassdrum. Spiralling voice snippets build paranoid, stern techno tracks - challenging, expertly executed and idiosyncratically Voigt.

Treading the 4/4 kick again albeit in his characteristically innovative and visionary way, Voigt again uses Profan sub-label Protest as his outlet. With sounds from bass to highs eminating from the tuba, his creation is infused with brassy depth in a wonderously unpredictable jazz-folk-techno. For enchanting dancefloors.
Du Musst Nichts Sagen

Rückverzauberung 2
(Track 01 on this Maxi-Single)
Continually surprising his fans with his experimental output, Mr Voigt's latest single shows two contrasting faces. The delicate orchestral and ambient soundscape of 'Ruckverzauberung' is abstracted and magical whilst 'Du Musst Nichts Sagen' blends pneumatic electronics with a war-like symphonic build up.

Wolfgang Voigt inaugurates his Protest label with two tracks that combine his classic Cologne shuffle beats with his recent explorations of abstract classical music. 'Robert Schumann..' and 'Martin Luther' are two intricate stompers that should find their ways onto open-minded dancefloors as well.
