Comprised of Sebastian Blume, Jan Philipp Janzen, Phillip Tielsch and Christopher Marquez, Von Spar is a Cologne-based artist collective, who made first headlines with their debut album for Germany's legendary, and sadly departed, indie label L'Age D'Or in 2003. Their subsequent works started to incorporate more influences from krautrock and cosmic disco into their sound, culminating in their 2010 album 'Foreigner', which is a lovely journey into spaced-out, atmospheric electronic pop.

The Album Foreigner
was reviewed:
Von Spar continue on their trajectory into outer space with their third album 'Foreigner'. Fittingly appearing on Cologne's wonderful Italic label, 'Foreigner' consists of eight cosmic synth-pop and krautrock disco experiments, nicely combining danceable beats with trippy improvisation. Nice one.
