NYC's Vinyl Life is a live electro hip-house group using all hardware both in the studio and on stage. Their aesthetic is very analog and old school, combining electro, bass and Baltimore-style breaks, and their 'gear-only' philosophy gives them a sound that authentically brings listeners back to the days of boom boxes and Bambaataa. Band personnel include Tape Theory label president Phil Moffa a.k.a. Butcha, who rocks with an arsenal of roots drum machines and effects. Harlem born MC Phaze Future represents raw vocals and keyboards are played by multi-instrumentalist Richie Roxx a.k.a. Nite Club. Vinyl Life's studio tracks have a live feel because they are produced by in a dub style - the mixing board is the main instrument.
