Toro Y Moi Toro Y Moi Toro Y Moi Music Producer (MP3 Downloads) Artist Carpark
Toro Y Moi is the alias of South Carolina native Chaz Bundick, whose 2010 debut album 'Causers Of This' established him as one of the US' most promising electronic pop artist over night. Bundick's avant-garde pop is in equal measure inspired by the abstract hip-hop of Flying Lotus as by the ultra-compressed filter-funk of French house artists like Daft Punk, lending a unique stylistic breadth to his highly polished productions. With his second album, 'Underneath The Pine', Bundick gave his sound a more 1960s-inspired songwriting direction.

His third album proper, Chaz Bundick's rich pop textures take a tangible slant towards the dancefloor, cranking a few bpm up from 2011's 'Underneath The Pine'. Adventurous instrumentalism and dreamy synths, led by his atmospheric pop/R'n'B vocals, he manages to maximise pleasures in his heartfelt, immersive way.

Collecting songs recorded before 'Causers Of This' and exploring eclectic and psychedelic song-writing styles, 'June 2009' is alternately silly, bold and touching, largely confining electronics to special moments such as the excellent 'Sad Arms' and the raw 'Talamak (First Version)'. Check.

Laid-back disco groover 'Still Sound' was one of the highlights on Toro Y Moi recent second album, and on this EP Toby Tobias and French newcomer Voodoo Bear add subtle touches of house music to the track. Deep pads and square-wave bass lines make for three perfectly low-slung summery disco house hits.
